The Model SBM180-WA is the preferred choice for medium capacity tank and hopper weighing applications. The SBM’s self-checking, self-centering design ensures greater accuracy and repeatability making it ideally suited for process control operations.
These weighing assemblies are manufactured using state-of-the-art equipment in ISO compliant facilities.
When used with the MTI model 4856 load cell, this weighing assembly can withstand even the most severe washdown environment. The superior hermetic seal of the load cell combined with Gage Seal III and M-Seal 3 coating ensures years of trouble free operation in even the most demanding environments.

* Gage-Seal II™ is a proprietary sealant. It’s unique properties offer strain gauges long term protection from the penetration of hydroscopic moisture during changes in barometric pressure.
** M-Seal 3™ coating offers a high level of resistance in acidic or alkaline environments. With a thickness between 6 -10 mil., the flexible non-porus coating will increase the life of the load cell without performance degradation. In extreme environments, additional Teflon™ cable may be desirable. M-Seal 3™ is suitable for incidental food contact in USDA facilities.

TYPICAL MOUNTING CONFIGURATIONS
VERTICAL & HORIZONTAL VESSEL ARRANGEMENTS
The gimbal effect of the mount, and the side load rejection of the load cell, combine to accommodate various mounting configurations. The Circular Mount Configurations above illustrates the preferred axial orientation of the load cell. The long axis of the load cell points toward the center of the tank/load. The Square and Rectangular Mount Configurations above illustrate optional mounting patterns. The long axis of the load cell should point in line with any existing recurring force, such as in a conveyor belt or roller platform. The center line of the leg/load should pass through the center of the top mounting plate.
